David Byrum is a partner of Kepner-Tregoe Inc. (KT) and is based in Sydney. He has previously worked in Europe, North America and throughout Australasia.
David is competent in all of KT's technologies. He consults, facilitates and conducts seminars in these technologies. He has developed and implemented result-based consulting interventions as well as competency-based training and assessment programs for managers and operators. He works with senior executives designing consulting and skill development interventions to maximise the impact to the bottom line ranging from step change in operational performance projects through OEE enhancement through to structural cost reduction programs.
David is currently the Vice President for the General Enterprise Practice in APAC and is responsible for our Skill Development and Short Term Consulting business within Australia, New Zealand, SEA, China, India and Japan. He currently manages and develops the training consultants within this practice as well as managing and developing a core group of clients including BlueScope Steel, Visy Industries, NAB, Cisco, IBM, EDS, Simplot, Rio Tinto and Crown Casino. As part of this role, David also leads our internal customer relationship team who deal with all of our in-company training and public session training accounts.
Prior to this role he had been working with BHP Integrated and Coated Steel implementing a high performance, high involvement and True Cost manufacturing model. During this time David had worked in both Victoria and NSW designing and implementing performance systems to allow effective decision making and problem solving at all levels of an organisation.
David joined KT in 1995 and was responsible for establishing KT in the Victorian market. David worked with both private and public sector organisations during this time. Some of the clients David managed and developed include Toyota Motor Corporation, Robert Bosch Australia, BHP Minerals, Victorian Work Cover Authority and Victorian Department of Treasury and Finance.
Before joining KT David held the position of Glass Production Manager with Pilkington Australasia. David was responsible for all production indicators as well as Implementation of ISO 9000 and Continuous Improvement Projects. He was also responsible for optimising the scheduling process and the implementation of capital based production projects.
David graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Science, Honors Degree and has a Masters in Business Administration from Deakin University. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) and Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers of Australia (APESMA). |
