As Executive Vice President, David Barnes oversees Western Union operations in the United States and Canada. Based in Englewood, Colo., at Western Union's global headquarters, Barnes also has responsibility for the company's global strategy development and Mergers and Acquisitions activity.
Prior to joining Western Union in 2006, Barnes was Chief Financial Officer for RadioShack Corporation, where he played a critical role in developing the company's turnaround business plan. Barnes previously served as Chief Financial Officer for Coors U.S. At Coors, he oversaw the financing of the company's financing of its $1.7 billion acquisition of Carling. Barnes also served as CFO of YUM's Greater China region, where he oversaw the growth of the KFC and Pizza Hut businesses in Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
Barnes holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, in Applied Mathematics from Yale University and a Master of Business Administration, Finance and Marketing, from the University of Chicago.
