David W. Lewarchik is an associate in the firm's Chicago office where he concentrates his practice in the areas of appellate advocacy and commercial litigation. Before joining the firm, Mr. Lewarchik served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Denise O’Malley, Justice of the Illinois Appellate Court, First Judicial District. He previously served the appellate court as a staff attorney in the court’s research department. While working for the appellate court, Mr. Lewarchik participated in the drafting of over eighty published opinions and unpublished orders on a wide array of issues relating to civil procedure, statutory construction, tort liability, employment law, corporate law, and insurance coverage, among others. A representative sample of these dispositions include: Sims-Hearn v. Office of the Medical Examiner, 359 Ill. App. 3d 439 (2005); Jensen v. Bayer AG, No. 1-04-3879 (February 2, 2007); People v. Flaar, 366 Ill. App. 3d 685 (2006), and Ahmad v. Board of Education, 365 Ill. App. 3d 155 (2006). While attending the Washington University School of Law, Mr. Lewarchik participated in several moot court competitions, worked at the school’s employment law clinic, and also worked for Professor Lee Epstein as a research assistant.
