Dr. Wilson received his PhD in Chemistry from Purdue University. He joined the Department of Chemistry at Georgia State University and was appointed Director of the Laboratory for Biochemical Sciences. He was promoted to Professor in 1984, and he soon after was established as a Regents’ Professor of Chemistry. Dr. Wilson’s research focuses on the structure and interaction properties of nucleic acids, and on studying and designing drugs that can inhibit specific organisms by forming complexes in the DNA minor groove at unique sequences. |
