David Buckingham focuses his practice in the area of real estate transactions, including lending, acquisitions, dispositions, workouts, foreclosures, leasing and construction contracts. He represents landlords, tenants, lending institutions, real estate developers and borrowers. Mr. Buckingham is regularly retained by leading corporations and nationally recognized law firms to serve as local counsel in financing transactions. Mr. Buckingham recently represented a Hollywood television producer in the sensitive purchase of North Carolina real estate. He also represented a community college in a politically sensitive real estate transaction involving a rare televised closing.
In addition, Mr. Buckingham has considerable experience in securitization transactions. He has represented both the trustee and issuer in numerous securitization transactions involving issuances ranging from $250 million to $1.45 billion. Mr. Buckingham has published articles on various aspects of real estate law in Bar Association publications and served as a co-course planner of the "UCC Institute" sponsored by the Business Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. |
