David S. Schaiman joined Sonnenblick-Goldman Company in 1970 and is a Managing Director of the company. Active in both the origination and placement of debt and equity for major real estate projects, he formerly headed up the Sonnenblick-Goldman capital markets staff. He has individually concluded several billion dollars in financing transactions and several billion dollars in sales transactions.
Mr. Schaiman, a resident of Westchester County, is a graduate of Wharton School of Finance and Commerce of the University of Pennsylvania, where he received a degree of Bachelor of Science in Economics and was a member of the Beta Alpha Psi and the Beta Gamma Sigma honorary fraternities. After undergraduate school, he served as an officer in the US Army and then practiced accounting in New York City as a Certified Public Accountant for a short period of time. He received a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School and was admitted to the Bar of the State of New York, the Supreme Court of the United States of America, and various federal courts. He is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and practiced law in New York for several years prior to joining Sonnenblick-Goldman Company. From 1979 through 1983, he was a partner and Advisory Director of Lehman Brothers.
Mr. Schaiman is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York and was the chairman of its Real Estate Finance Committee. He is also a member of the Urban Land Institute and other industry organizations. He has been a speaker and chaired programs at the Mortgage Bankers Association conventions and meetings, the Urban Land Institute, the International Council of Shopping Centers, the New York University Real Estate Institute and National Association of Industrial and Office Parks.
