Before founding 21st Century Health & Benefits, Mr. Markson served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Independence Blue Cross in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In that capacity, he negotiated the Blue Cross Plan's first prospective payment contract, valued at $2.5 billion, with 64 hospitals. Mr. Markson was raised in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania (A.B. 1965), the University of Pittsburgh (M.A. 1967) and Villanova Law School (J.D. 1970) where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review. Prior to his career at Independence Blue Cross, he was a health care attorney at the firm of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius in Philadelphia. |
