Dr. Green is the founder of Carmanah Technologies Inc. A professional engineer experienced in the management and operation of high-tech companies Dr. Green has founded or was a founding member of Carmanah Technologies (1998) NxtPhase Corporation (1997) Carmanah Research (1993) Seastar Chemicals (1988) SDL Optics (1986) Axys Instruments (1982) Axys Analytical (1980) and Axys Environmental (1974). Dr. Green has an engineering physics degree from the Royal Military College Kingston Ontario and a Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia.
Dr. Green is an acknowledged expert in light emitting diodes (LEDs). In fact in 2001 he was contracted by the Government of Canada to develop the national specification for LED-based warning signals at road/railway grade crossings. Dr. Green is also a pioneer in the marriage of LED and solar power technologies and is currently the inventor of five patents in this field which form the basis of many of Carmanah's products.
In June 2004 Dr. Green was the recipient of the VIATeC "Colin Lennox Award for Technology Champion " a lifetime achievement award recognizing the impact he has made to his regional technology sector. |
