David Crosby is assistant chair of Leonard, Street and Deinard’s Litigation Division, and is also head of the firm’s Business and Commercial Litigation Department. Since joining the firm in 1993, David has focused his practice on complex commercial disputes, and has extensive experience in the areas of trust and estate litigation, contract litigation, franchise and dealer litigation, antitrust and shareholder disputes. The scope of these cases has ranged from litigating billion-dollar family trust disputes to defending large software manufacturers in multi-district class actions. He has also successfully handled numerous federal and state court appeals for clients. David has been named a "Rising Star" several times by his peers, as noted in Minnesota Law & Politics magazine, and also has an "AV" peer review rating (highest level of professional excellence) from Martindale-Hubbell.
REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS
Counsel to three beneficiaries in litigation involving family trusts valued at over one billion dollars. Successfully obtained judgment in favor of clients confirming their status as beneficiaries of the trusts.
Pursued and defended numerous claims against corporate and individual trustees involving claims of breaches of fiduciary duty and trust mismanagement.
Represented major software manufacturer in several-week consumer class action antitrust trial in Minnesota state court.
Represented plaintiffs and defendants in numerous franchise / distribution disputes, including cases involving state franchise and dealer protection statutes.
