David Phillips joined Polycom as senior vice president of worldwide sales in July 2006. Phillips is the former COO of ACS Dataline, Inc., a premier provider of customized managed services in the areas of voice over IP, wireless, and security communications infrastructure.
He has spent the majority of his career in senior sales management positions with Lucent/Avaya, AT&T, and a division of Plessey in the UK that was later acquired by Siemens. Common to all positions is a proven ability to significantly grow revenue and profitability.
As vice president of Worldwide Sales for the Connectivity Solutions division of Lucent/Avaya from 1999 to 2001, for instance, he grew annual revenues by 35 percent in two years. As regional vice president of AT&T’s enterprise business in Europe from 1990 to 1996, he tripled revenues and became a member of the AT&T Leaders Council.
