David P. Bossy is a principal and Chairman of Mid-America Development Partners, LLC (Mid-Am). Along with Michael D. Firsel, he founded Mid-Am in May 2001, and together they successfully initiated an impressive series of development ventures primarily involving retail and mixed-use properties. Through 2005, Bossy has planned or completed 65 projects totaling more than 10 million square feet of commercial and residential space.Prior to establishing Mid-Am, Bossy gained recognition as one of the Chicago area's most successful retail property brokers, a career he began in 1977. After six years with Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate, he co-founded Mid-America Real Estate Corporation, which pioneered the concept of tenant brokerage in the retail field and has represented more than 100 national and regional chains. In 1992, he also helped to establish Mid-America Asset Management Company, a respected property management firm with a portfolio of 20 million square feet of retail centers. In 1997, the Chicago Sun-Times named Bossy its Retail Broker of the Year.Bossy sits on the Board of Directors for the Chicago chapter of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. He is also a Steering Committee member for UNICEF's Unite for Children-Unite Agains AIDS Campaign. Bossy is the 2006 Anti-Defamation League's Arthur Rubloff Humanitarianism Award recipient. He is a member of the Little Sisters of the Poor and the Youth Campus in Park Ridge, IL. He is on the Advisory Board for The Private Bank of Oak Brook.A native of Montreal, Quebec, Bossy graduated from the College of Business Administration at the University of Notre Dame, which he attended on a hockey scholarship. He then played briefly for the Quebec Nordiques of the World Hockey Association. He and his wife, Debbie, have five children and reside in Hinsdale, Ill. |
