David Wilks is president of Energy Supply.
Prior to the 2000 merger between Northern States Power Co. and New Century Energies (NCE) to form Xcel Energy, he was president of Delivery for NCE. He was president of Marketing and Services for NCE from May 1997 to October 1998. Before that, he held positions in engineering and operations at Southwestern Public Service Company.
Wilks received the 2003 Ally Award from the Women's Vision Foundation in recognition of sustained actions in advancing competent women in the workforce.
He serves as a member of the Greater Golden Chamber of Commerce, an advisory board member of Texas A&M College of Engineering, and a member of the board of directors and board of trustees of the Denver Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He is a past board member of the Western Business Roundtable and the Rocky Mountain Electrical League. He is a past member of the executive and finance committees of the Center for Energy and Economic Development (CEED). He is a past member of the Governors Business Council in Texas and a past board member of the Baptist/St. Anthony's Foundation. He is a past chairman of the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce board of directors, and a past president of the American Cancer Society, and the YMCA board of directors.
Wilks earned a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University. He holds a master of science degree in business financial management from George Washington University and is a graduate of Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program. |
