David M. Schmertz joined TippingPoint in 2005 and brings over 17 years of experience in global communications, product marketing and business development. He brings extensive international expertise in sales, marketing, business development and strategic partnerships, with experience in the development of worldwide sales channels and the management of several international subsidiaries. In his role as Vice President Asia Pacific Sales and Marketing, he manages all Asia-Pacific sales, channel marketing, business development and end user relations. Prior to TippingPoint, Mr. Schmertz held executive positions at a number of companies including Global Insight, Inc. (GII), Santa Cruz Networks, Efficient Networks, Inc./Siemens Corporation, IBest Corporation and Nokia. In these companies, he was responsible for various sales and marketing organizations in Asia Pacific, Latin America and Europe. Mr. Schmertz has acted as a consultant, Chief Operating Officer, Emmy-winning broadcast journalist and speaks Mandarin Chinese. He graduated cum laude from the University of Utah with a Bachelors degree in Mass Communication and a minor in Mandarin Chinese. He also holds a J.D. (Law) degree from the University of Utah. Mr. Schmertz is based in Singapore. |
