Dr. Hodges has been involved in Clinical Resource Management for nearly ten years. He received his medical degree from New York University in 1984. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. His academic affiliations include Assistant Professor of Medicine at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University, and he also completed a clinical fellowship at the Harvard Medical School Faculty Development Program, and received his cardiology training at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital of the Harvard Medical School. He received his Masters in Health Policy and Management from the Harvard School of Public Health. His broad-based clinical work includes being the Director of the Cardiovascular Laboratory at Harlem Hospital and Director of the Cardiology Fellowship Program at Harlem Hospital. He founded Englewood Healthcare Associates in Bergen County, NJ, an active community practice in cardiology and internal medicine. In 1992 Dr. Hodges left fulltime clinical work to engage in consulting and business management activities. From 1992 to 1994 he served as a Senior Consultant for CSC-APM, a leading health care consulting firm. In that capacity he led efforts in clinical resource management that led to dramatic cost reductions, as well as operations reengineering at leading medical centers in the United States and Canada. He pioneered the company’s initial efforts at disease management software development. Dr. Hodges also held the position of Senior Vice President of Clinical Affairs at Preferred Health Systems, LLC, a disease management software development company with an $18 million dollar annual revenue stream. There he led a 60-person in-house clinical development team through all phases of the product development process, as well as managing 200 outside clinical consultants. Since leaving PHS, Dr. Hodges has occupied his time developing Care Connexions and consulting for high profile health care companies. |
