David J. Meyer joined Avista Corp. as senior vice president and general counsel in September of 1998 and was named to his current position in 2004. Meyer had been involved with the company for 20 years as a member of Paine Hamblen Coffin Brooke and Miller, one of Spokane’s leading law firms.
Meyer is a native of Glendive, Montana, and is a graduate of Valparaiso University, where he received political science and economics degrees. He is a 1978 graduate of Cornell University Law School.
Meyer joined Paine Hamblen Coffin Brooke and Miller in 1978. He was a partner in the firm for 17 years. While with Paine Hamblen, Meyer represented Avista Corp. in a number of areas, including regulatory and business-related capacities.
In addition to his work at Avista Corp., Meyer currently serves on the board of directors of the Lilac Blind Foundation and the board of trustees for the Spokane Symphony. He is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, Spokane County Bar Association and the Federal Energy Bar Association.
Meyer and his wife, Anni Ryan Meyer, are the parents of four children. |
