David Scaff is the President of Lydian's Trust Division, headquartered at 180 Royal Palm Way, Palm Beach, Florida. There, he and his colleagues consult with clients about the appropriate use of family trusts to achieve client goals in both present and future generations. Mr. Scaff is a veteran of more than 25 years in the financial services industry. During that time, he has formed strong opinions about both the value and pitfalls of using a corporate trustee. Lydian clients can count on a trustee with a strict adherence to avoiding conflicts of interest and an "open door policy" for beneficiaries.
Prior to joining Lydian, Mr. Scaff served as President of First National in Palm Beach, a division of Wachovia Bank. His responsibilities included the overall management of trust, investment and banking services. His career with Wachovia (formerly First Union) began in his native North Carolina in 1980. He spent two years with SunTrust (formerly Untied Virginia Bank) before rejoining Wachovia in the Florida market in 1988.
Mr. Scaff earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management, both from North Carolina State University. He is a graduate of the ABA's National Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University and is a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor.
David Scaff is active in several charitable, arts and community organizations including the Society of Four Arts, the Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach and the Palm Beach Community Chest/United Way.
