Mr. Ellison is President of The FBR Funds and Chief Investment Officer (CIO) for The FBR Equity Funds. Mr. Ellison is the portfolio manager of the FBR Large and Small Cap Financial Services Funds and co-portfolio manager of the FBR Large Cap Technology Fund. Mr. Ellison is also the portfolio manager for certain FBR hedge funds.
Mr. Ellison's investment strategy involves looking for companies with an attractive historical growth rate, strong financial position and excellent earnings potential selling at reasonable prices. In essence, he employs a relatively conservative investment philosophy designed to enhance investment opportunities through careful security selection and full-time money management.
Prior to joining FBR in 1996, Mr. Ellison managed the Fidelity Select Home Finance Fund. While at Fidelity, David developed his investing discipline and strategy under the tutelage of seasoned fund managers like Peter Lynch.
Mr. Ellison is a frequent speaker at investor conferences and universities, and has appeared on CNBC, CNNfn, CNN. He has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Dow Jones Investment Advisor, SmartMoney and Business Week magazine. He has also written articles for American Banker and Worth magazine.
Mr. Ellison received a B.A. in Economics from St. Lawrence University in 1980. He earned his M.B.A. from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1983. |
