Dave has 37 years of experience in the financial service industry, of which 27 has been in the investment management arena. After serving in the U.S. Army for several years, he joined the Maine National Bank in 1970. He rose to the position of Senior Investment Officer for the Trust Division. At $2 Billion, it was the largest trust department in northern New England at the time. He managed two common trust funds that were ranked in the top 10% and top 15% respectively, by Indata. In 1991, he joined Maine Bank & Trust to develop a new Trust Department, and served as its Chief Investment Officer until 2006. At that point, he was promoted to the position of Chief Investment Strategist for Maine Bank & Trust’s parent organization where he is responsible for setting investment strategy and leads a corporate-wide team of Investment Analysts. Dave also chairs the Corporation’s Asset Allocation Committee. EDUCATION Dave received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maine in 1965. He earned a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation in 1988. PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS Dave has been an Instructor for Investment and Economics courses at the Northern New England Center for Financial Training (CFT) for over 30 years. He received the Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award in 2001. Dave is a member of the Maine Estate Planning Council, and a member of Maine Women’s Fund Investment Committee. He is also on the External Advisory Committee of University of Southern Maine’s College of Education and Human Development. In 2006, he was honored by the University of Southern Maine’s College of Education and Human Development on the Bailey Hall Wall of Achievement. |
