David G. Ackerman served as executive vice president and chief lobbyist for the California Chamber from 1986 through 1988. Now president of his own advocacy firm, he follows transportation-related issues for CalChamber. Ackerman first joined the CalChamber staff after more than three years as undersecretary for the Business, Transportation and Housing Agency, where he had principal responsibility for the activities of the Department of Commerce and developing California’s transportation policies. He also has served as executive vice president of Californians for Better Transportation, a coalition of highway and transit advocacy organizations. Ackerman received his B.A. in political science from UCLA and his M.A. in public administration from California State University, Chico. |
