David E. Stutzman, is a member of Seward & Kissel’s Individual Client Group. Mr. Stutzman has been practicing law since 1988 and focuses primarily in the areas of estate, trust and charitable planning and administration. He joined the firm as Counsel in 2001.
His practice seeks to reconcile the unique goals of his individual and family clients with the often complex and changing requirements mandated by the nation’s gift, estate and generation-skipping tax laws. In addition, Mr. Stutzman is counsel to and advises numerous charitable trusts and private foundations.
Mr. Stutzman received a B.A. degree (with distinction) from the University of Virginia, in 1985 and a J.D. degree in 1988.
Mr. Stutzman is a member of the Bars of New York, Connecticut and the District of Columbia, and is admitted to the U.S. Tax Court. He serves on the Estate and Gift Taxation Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. He has spoken and written on various topics in his practice area, and serves on the boards of various not-for profit organizations.
