Areas
DAVID A. SOSNE’s areas of concentration are bankruptcy, insolvency law and debtor/creditor relationships. He represents creditors and debtors in business insolvency matters in federal and state courts and in non-courtroom settings. These services include (a) representing secured and unsecured creditors, creditors’ committees and debtors in Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases and proceedings, (b) serving as a receiver, attorney for receiver and attorney for secured creditors in state court receivership proceedings, (c) providing representation in connection with out of court work-outs, liquidations and restructuring of business obligations, (d) serving as an operating trustee in Chapter 11 cases, (e) representing creditors and debtors in complex chapter 7 bankruptcy cases and proceedings, and (f) litigating debtor and creditor issues in bankruptcy and non-bankruptcy forums, among other areas of representation. He is licensed to practice law in the States of Missouri and Illinois and is admitted to practice in the Eastern District of Missouri, the Southern District of Illinois and the Eight Circuit of the Court of Appeals. He is a panel member of bankruptcy trustees for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. He lectures frequently on bankruptcy and insolvency issues and has also served as a member of the Local Rules Advisory Group assisting in the drafting of local rules and implementation orders for the Bankruptcy Court. He started his practice as a Law Clerk to the Honorable John M. Karns, Illinois Court of Appeals. David is a 1977 graduate of Washington University School of Law. |
