David Wickersham, chief operating officer and executive vice president, joined Seagate in 1998. A 28-year veteran of the storage and systems industries, Wickersham manages a complex, vertically integrated, Fortune 500 manufacturing enterprise that spans six countries and three continents. In overseeing Seagate’s global operations, he is responsible for all aspects of product R&D, design and development, along with materials, logistics, manufacturing and quality, for both components and finished products.
Background: Wickersham joined Seagate in 1998 as the head of the company’s worldwide materials organization. He later served as senior vice president for product line management, and senior vice president of worldwide materials. In 2000, he was promoted to executive vice president, global disc storage operations. Wickersham was named COO in April 2004. Wickersham has also served in various management roles at IBM, Exabyte and Maxtor.
