Weiss is responsible for planning, developing and supporting information technology and telecommunications initiatives throughout BJC's affiliated hospitals and service organizations, overseeing a $100 million budget and a staff of 475 professionals that specialize in clinical-based software solutions, integration of disparate systems and expert systems intended to support caregivers in clinical practices.
Weiss is a member of numerous professional organizations including the Health-Care Information Systems Executives Association (past Chairman), the American Medical Informatics Association and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. He is a member of the College of Health-Care Information Management Executives and serves as a lecturer in the Health Administration Program of the Washington University School of Medicine. He also serves on the Advisory Board of several prominent health-care industry companies such as Pyxis Corporation and Emageon. |
