David A. Weisbach, professor of law and director of the Olin Program in law and economics at the University of Chicago Law School, has been of counsel to McKee Nelson since 2000. He is primarily involved in issues relating to federal taxation of financial products.
At the University of Chicago Law School, Professor Weisbach teaches corporate finance, partnership taxation, tax policy and taxation of corporations. He is a frequent speaker at seminars on the subject of taxation and has written numerous articles.
Prior to joining the University of Chicago Law School in 1998, Professor Weisbach was associate professor of law at Georgetown Law Center from 1996 to 1998. In 1992, he joined the U.S. Department of Treasury where he worked as an attorney-advisor in the Office of the Tax Legislative Counsel and, subsequently, as associate tax legislative counsel until 1996. While at the Treasury Department, Professor Weisbach was responsible for tax issues involving financial products. |
