Dave has over 20 years experience in the biotech field. Previously, he was Vice President of Process Sciences at ProGenix Biotech. He was responsible for leading the efforts for the development of rugged, robust, and cost-effective purification processes for biopharmaceutical products. The scope of these projects included expression of recombinant proteins and monoclonal antibodies from yeast or mammalian cells. Prior to joining ProGenix, he held several Director and Managerial positions at Cohesion Technologies, including concurrent positions of Director of Recombinant Proteins and Director of Research at Cohesion Technologies (Palo Alto, CA). He actively participated and led four different recombinant programs, utilizing a variety of expression systems (including mammalian cells and yeast), to the development stage utilizing in-house personnel and external collaborators. He was responsible for all aspects of these programs, including process development and scale-up. Prior to Cohesion Technologies, he held Senior Scientific positions at Collagen Corporation (Palo Alto, CA) where he initiated and directed two of these recombinant programs prior to their transfer into Cohesion Technologies. He obtained his Ph.D. in Genetics at the George WashingtonUniversity in Washington, DC. His main focus was on the expression and study of recombinant proteins. Previously, he had obtained an MS in Biochemistry at Virginia Tech, focusing on protein purification and characterization. |
