Mr. Stepanek comes to Athena Capital Partners, Inc. from the Florida office of Advantage Capital Partners, a $700 million venture capital firm. As a second generation venture capitalist, Mr. Stepanek’s career has focused on Florida’s venture capital markets. While at Advantage Mr. Stepanek participated in all aspects of the investment and management process and helped to grow the portfolio to 16 companies. Through his extensive venture capital relationships Mr. Stepanek successfully recruited top management for portfolio companies and was successful in both raising follow-on capital and attracting term sheets for critical portfolio situations. Prior to working at Advantage Capital Partners Mr. Stepanek was an Investment Associate with Northern Trust Bank where he managed high net worth client relationships and institutional investment management accounts. Prior to Northern Trust Mr. Stepanek worked with the Franklin Templeton Funds. Mr. Stepanek holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Business with a concentration in Human Resource Management from Eckerd College. While attending Eckerd Mr. Stepanek was an Intern at Carillon Asset Management of Raymond James & Associates. |
