Daniel Berrien joined Canopy Development after completing his Masters in Regional Planning at the University of Massachusetts with a focus on sustainable development. While pursuing his graduate studies, Dan was awarded the Kenneth L. Good Graduate Student Fellowship by the Urban Land Institute for his work related to sustainable real estate development. Danís present role of senior project manager at Canopy includes responsibility for identification and acquisition of new development projects and management of Canopyís Land Development Services group. He has been involved with projects in the U.S., Central America and the Caribbean as a project manager and planner. Dan is a U.S. Green Building Council LEED Accredited Professional and his previous experience includes providing technical assistance for green building projects at the Green Roundtable in Cambridge, MA as well as developing a guide to sustainable hotel development in the Costa Maya region of Mexico for Conservation International which is scheduled for upcoming publication. Dan also brings extensive experience as a project manager to his current role at Canopy. Dan received his bachelorís degree in Geography from Clark University and worked in the software industry before pursuing his Masters degree. He lives in Northampton, Massachusetts with his wife Jessica and their son. |
