Daniel T. Flaherty is the head of the Litigation Practice Group and practices in the Milwaukee, Appleton and Green Bay offices. His practice focuses on complex business litigation. Prior to joining the Firm, Daniel was a Federal Prosecutor in the United States Department of Justice, United States Attorneys Office, Eastern District of Wisconsin where he specialized in financial institution fraud investigations and prosecutions. While a Federal Prosecutor, Daniel served as the lead prosecutor on a number of significant cases, including multi-million dollar white-collar fraud prosecutions. Daniel was the lead prosecutor in the John Morken bank fraud case, which was the largest criminal fraud case in Wisconsin history. Prior to serving in the U.S. Attorney's Office, he practiced in the Washington, D.C. office of a national law firm.
Daniel's civil and criminal litigation experience includes antitrust, complex corporate disputes, financial institutions, health care, intellectual property, internal corporate (including Sarbanes-Oxley) investigations, securities and tax litigation. Daniel's practice includes trial work in state and federal courts throughout the country, arbitration and mediation.Daniel is a Past-President and Founding Board Member of The Eastern District of Wisconsin Bar Association. Daniel is listed in Best Lawyers in America for business litigation, and is a Wisconsin Super Lawyer in the business litigation category. Daniel is admitted to practice before the Wisconsin Supreme Court, the United States District Courts for the District of Columbia, the Eastern District of Wisconsin, the Western District of Wisconsin and United States Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Daniel received his B.A. in political science and Russian area studies from Williams College. He completed his legal education at the University of Wisconsin Law School.
