Mr. Gleizer was appointed as Executive Officer for the Risk Management and Macroeconomic Research areas on April 30, 2004. He became in charge of the Treasury department on March 2005, and continued to serve on the Macroeconomic Research area. He began his career in Washington with the International Monetary Fund and has held management positions in several financial institutions, such as Deutsche Bank - Managing Director (Global Markets) and Credit Suisse First Boston - Chief Economist. From March 1999 to February 2002, Mr. Gleizer served as Director for International Matters of Central Bank of Brazil and as a member voter for the COPOM. Mr. Gleizer holds a degree in Economics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ) and a PH.D in Economics from the Berkeley University, California. |
