As President and Chief Executive Officer, Daniel J. Hilferty is responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of Keystone Mercy Health Plan, the largest Medical Assistance managed health care organization in Southeastern Pennsylvania serving the five-county greater Philadelphia area. Headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Keystone Mercy and its affiliated health plans comprise the largest family of Medicaid managed care plans in the United States, touching the lives of more than 2 million members nationwide.
Mr. Hilferty has more than 20 years of experience in health care, government affairs, communications, and education. He was previously Senior Vice President of Corporate and Government Affairs for Mercy Health System in Southeastern Pennsylvania. In this capacity, he coordinated all government relations activities, corporate communications, marketing initiatives, development and community outreach efforts.
Prior to his tenure at Mercy Health System, Mr. Hilferty was the Executive Director of PennPorts with the Office of Pennsylvania Governor Robert P. Casey. He managed all economic development programs and legislative relations related to the ports of Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Erie.
Mr. Hilferty is active in many community organizations including the Pennsylvania Economy League, City of Philadelphia Airport Advisory Board, the Police Athletic League and the Greater Philadelphia Urban Affairs Coalition. His leadership and commitment to the community has been recognized throughout the years by a variety of organizations. He has received the Saint Joseph's University Ignatius Award, the Whitney M. Young Award from the Cradle of Liberty Council of the Boy Scouts of America, the Small Miracles Award from the Center for Autistic Children, the Youth Leadership Foundation Keystone Mercy Corporate Partnership Award, the Community Leader of the Year Award from the Arthritis Foundation, the Good Scout Award from the Boy Scouts of America, and the Moments of Change Award from the Philadelphia Comprehensive Center for Fathers. Most recently, he was inducted into the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) Hall of Fame for his many contributions to CYO groups in the parish community and was honored at the 35th Anniversary Gala of Cora Services.
Mr. Hilferty received a Master's degree in Public Administration from American University in Washington, DC, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia. |
