Daniel J. Michalchuk is an associate in the New York office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP and a member of the Global Project Finance Group. Mr. Michalchuk has represented project sponsors and financial institutions in numerous domestic and international project financings and in infrastructure projects across various industries.
On the lender side, Mr. Michalchuk's recent experience includes the representation of the lenders in the project financings of the AUM melamine/urea ammonium nitrate/ammonia project, the N2000 and CNC ammonia projects and the M5000 methanol project, all in Trinidad (Trinidad); in the financing of the development of an undersea fiber optic cable network in Hawaii (United States), in the financing of the Boston Generating power portfolio (United States); in the equity investor financing of the Freeport LNG Terminal (United States); in the construction financing of an LNG terminal in Mexico (Mexico); in the OPIC-guarantied financing to support a facility of the Trade Bank of Iraq (Iraq); in a bid to finance the acquisition of a concession to lease and operate the Indiana Toll Road (United States); in the financing of the Collahuasi copper mine (Chile); and in the project financing of the Campeche Power project (Mexico). Mr. Michalchuk's recent experience includes, on the sponsor side, representation of the sponsors in the development and financing of the PDET oil transport project (Brazil); representation of the owners in the refinancing of the MACH Gen power plant portfolio (United States); representation of the investors in the Blackhawk power plant in Texas (United States); representation of the sponsors in the acquisition of Duke Energy North America's portfolio of generating facilities in the Southeast United States (United States); representation of the project company in the development and project financing of the Ibirité Power Project (Brazil); representation of the project company in the EPC arrangements for the Termorio Power Project (Brazil).
Mr. Michalchuk received a B.A. from Queen's University, Canada, an M.A. in International Relations from Carleton University, Canada, an LL.B. from University of Ottawa, Canada and an LL.M. in International and Comparative Law from Georgetown University Law Center. Mr. Michalchuk is admitted to practice in New York. Mr. Michalchuk is conversant in Ukrainian. |
