BACKGROUND: Dan was born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on May 9, 1976. He was raised outside Chicago, Illinois. He received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University in Psychology, with a concentration in Law and Society. In 2001, Dan graduated from Loyola Chicago School of Law with honors. He was both a Student Articles Editor and a Conference Editor for the Loyola University Chicago School of Law Journal. In the latter capacity, Dan planned and coordinated Loyola?s first-ever student-run national scholarly conference. Following his graduation from Loyola, Dan clerked for The Honorable G. Kendall Sharp, Senior United States District Court Judge for the Middle District of Florida. Dan's practice is primarily devoted to civil litigation, including both trial and appellate work, in both state and federal courts. He is licensed to practice law in both Florida and Illinois. His experience includes complex contract and real estate disputes, products liability defense, sports law, partnership disputes and professional malpractice defense. Dan also devotes a portion of his practice to juvenile law, representing the Department of Children and Family's designated Community-Based Care Provider in Orange and Osceola Counties.
