Daniel D. Snyder is executive vice president - operations for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company.
Snyder was formerly senior vice president of operations at Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation (B&W), a subsidiary of British American Tobacco that was the third-largest manufacturer and marketer of cigarettes in the United States prior to the merger of its U.S. operations with Reynolds Tobacco in July 2004. At that time, Reynolds American became R.J. Reynolds' new parent company.
Snyder joined B&W in 1977 as a process engineer and left the company in 1979 to work in his family's construction business. He returned to B&W in 1981 as a project engineer and held various engineering management positions before moving into operations management in 1991. Snyder was promoted to vice president of manufacturing in 1998, and was named vice president of technology and quality in 2001. He was appointed senior vice president of operations for B&W in July 2002.
Snyder serves on the board of directors of the Forsyth Tech Foundation.
A native of Louisville, Ky., Snyder holds a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Louisville.
