Mr. Watson's practice focuses on commercial finance, specializing in the representation of financial institutions in commercial, real estate and construction lending transactions. Mr. Watson joined Dykema in 2008. Before joining Dykema, Mr. Watson managed the commercial section of the legal department of LaSalle Bank Midwest, a Bank of America company. As manager of the commercial section of the legal department, Mr. Watson was responsible for a group of attorneys and paralegals who gathered the due diligence and prepared the loan documentation for both commercial banking and commercial real estate loan transactions, involving commercial lines of credit, term loans, letters of credit, equipment finance, investor real estate loans, construction loans and various other types of commercial finance transactions. He also provided legal consultation to the Commercial Banking and Commercial Real Estate departments, including providing legal approval for the bank's commercial loan policies and procedures, oversight of the bank's master commercial loan documents which were used by both in-house and outside counsel and acting as liaison with the bank's outside counsel on issues involving the bank's commercial loan policies and procedures. Mr. Watson's practice with Dykema involves the representation of banks and other financial institutions primarily in commercial banking and commercial real estate loan transactions.
Experience
As manager of the commercial section of LaSalle Bank Midwest, a Bank of America company, for many years, Mr. Watson represented the bank in all types of commercial loan and commercial real estate transactions, including the negotiation and documentation of secured line of credit facilities, equipment finance facilities, letters of credit, acquisition term loans, syndicated loan transactions, construction and end loan transactions and other types of financing transactions. His position as manager of the commercial section of the legal department of a major commercial bank has given Mr. Watson a unique perspective on the legal needs and requirements of financial institutions in connection with commercial loan and commercial real estate transactions. He is able to utilize that experience to provide legal services to financial institutions in an efficient and cost effective manner. |
