Dan Jaszka is the tax partner who oversees the firm’s Tax Department. He is primarily responsible for review of firm research and quality control. Additionally, he is responsible for the firm’s tax research and compliance technology. Mr. Jaszka has extensive experience advising privately owned business entities on tax strategies and complex compliance issues, including:
Tax issues related to reorganizations, dispositions and spin-offs for manufacturing, distribution and real estate companies, including foreign tax issues related to offshore business operations and commerce.
Tax aspects of corporate mergers and acquisitions.
Tax implications of exchanges and dispositions of commercial and residential real estate holdings.
Tax aspects of institutional investors, including pension fund and other entities with unrelated business tax issues.
Tax advice with respect to business formation and choice of entity for business expansion or start-up operations.

Tax advice pertaining to estate and business success planning.
State and local taxation relating to multi-site business operations.
Mr. Jaszka has written numerous tax articles and has been the lead lecturer for seminars covering a variety of tax issues, including tax advantages and consequences of 1031 real estate exchanges, multi-state income tax compliance, 199 deductions for manufacturers, and family limited partnerships.
Mr. Jaszka joined Shepard Schwartz & Harris in 1982 as a college intern and remained at the firm after completing his undergraduate education. |
