Danae M. Schuster received her Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1996. As a chemist, her research focused on organic synthesis and organometallic chemistry.
Dr. Schuster joined Kenyon & Kenyon in 2000, and her private practice focuses primarily on patent litigation and on client counseling. Emphasis of Dr. Schuster's private practice is on rendering opinions relating to clients' new products and potential patent infringement and validity issues in the pharmaceutical arts, including new chemical entities, chemical processes, therapeutic indications, and pharmaceutical formulations. Dr. Schuster's patent litigation experience has been in the pharmaceutical arts, with two cases heard before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Both client counseling and litigation work has largely involved patent matters related to filings of Abbreviated New Drug Applications. Dr. Schuster also has experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in diverse technologies such as pharmaceuticals, chemical arts, and medical devices.
