Dana W. Byrne was named vice president-public affairs in November 2004. In his position, he is responsible for all public relations, government relations, and environmental affairs for the Company.
Mr. Byrne joined Cliffs in 1979 as a tax specialist and then became supervisor of state taxes. In 1987, he moved into government relations where he was later named director-government relations. Prior to Cliffs, he began his career in taxation with a multi-national machine tool manufacturer.
Mr. Byrne earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from St. Joseph College. He is vice chairman of the National Mining Association government affairs committee, a board member of the Iron Mining Association of Minnesota, and a member of the American Iron and Steel Association's council of U.S. producers. |
