Ms. Montone practices complex commercial litigation, with particular emphasis in matters relating to securities and contract disputes. She assists in both the prosecution and defense of claims under the securities laws and common law in state and federal courts, as well as before the National Association of Securities Dealers.
Recent Transactions
o Currently assisting in the prosecution of an action against a corporation and its investment banker alleging that the defendants defrauded plaintiff, a U.S. holding company for a European conglomerate, in the acquisition of plaintiff's stock holdings in the corporation.
o Currently represents claimants in a securities arbitration against broker-dealers and a clearing broker involving claims of unauthorized trading and fraud.
o Assisted with the prosecution of claims on behalf of a hedge fund against its clearing broker for the return of millions of dollars of the fund's investment.
o Assisted in procuring the dismissal of an action against a public pharmaceuticals company. Claims included securities fraud and breach of fiduciary duty.
