Dan Whiteman leads Coastal's commercial and condominium companies. "Our goal is to utilize the extensive experience of our team members in commercial and multi-family construction by providing high-quality, cost-effective building solutions in a wide range of markets," Whiteman says. A certified general contractor, Whiteman earned Bachelor's and Master's degree in building construction from the University of Florida. In addition, he has recently been awarded his Ph.D. in Design, Construction and Planning from the University of Florida. Dan has taught at the University of Florida, and is currently an Adjunct Professor at both the University of Miami and Florida International University. A member of Coastal's advisory board since 1992, he oversaw construction of the Oceania and Oceania Island developments in Miami Beach before joining Coastal full-time in 1997. Whiteman was president of Associated General Contractors of Mid-Florida (1989-91) and was legislative chair for the same organization for eight years. He currently serves on the executive committee of the University of Florida's School of Building Construction Advisory Council. |
