Dan Watts - Director of LED Engineering. Mr. Watts is an electrical engineer with 25 years of electronics design experience. He has designed dozens of products for use in industrial, consumer and the medical markets. For the past 5 years he has focused on designing LED based lighting products. From January 2001 to January 2004, he served as Director of Engineering for a Chicago lighting company. For the past four years, Dan has been a lecturer at the Aerospace Lighting Institute where he teaches courses on proper application of incandescent lamps and LEDs for use in and on aircraft. Mr. Watts worked from 1998 to 2001 as a Senior Project Engineer for Skil-Bosch Power Tool Corp. designing products for the Cordless Tool division. From 1984 to 1998 Mr. Watts worked as a technical consultant designing products for Abbott Labs, GE Power Group, International Imaging, Autotrol, Johnson Controls and the University of Illinois at Chicago. Products included a painless blood letting device for diabetics, industrial diamond making machine, medical imaging recording equipment, a device for measuring micro particles in suspension and an advanced ultrasonic technique for measuring blood flow in the heart. Mr. Watts has traveled extensively in Asia and is experienced with managing off-shore contract manufacturing. Mr. Watts holds patents in several fields and has authored numerous technical articles on lighting for trade journals. |
