As director of amateur scouting and player development, Dan Marr is responsible for player development and evaluation for the organization and assists Executive Vice President and General Manager Don Waddell in all player-related decisions.
Marr, who served as the team's chief scout for over three years from 2000-03, was promoted to his current position on July 9, 2003. He joined the team as head scout on Sept. 1, 1998, after spending more than 12 years with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Marr joined the Maple Leafs in 1986 as an athletic trainer and was promoted to full-time western scout three years later. From 1992-95, Marr evaluated talent in Europe and North America for the Maple Leafs and was promoted to scouting coordinator in 1995, where he was responsible for coordinating the club's amateur scouting staff in North America, as well as training and summer prospect camps.
Prior to joining the Maple Leafs organization, Marr served as an athletic trainer for the Toronto Marlboros of the Ontario Hockey League from 1980-85. The native of Dunnville, Ontario, received a diploma in athletic training and management from Sheridan College in 1980. He resides in Toronto. |
