Malliet and his team have responsibility for all global HR operations as well as payroll.
With over two decades of HR experience, Malliet has developed broad expertise as both a leader and hands-on program developer in all areas of HR practice in a wide variety of industries, including financial services, insurance and software. Over this time he has grown especially adept at leading change and building positive corporate cultures.
Prior to joining UGS he served as executive director of HR with Engineering Animation Inc. (EAI), a leader in Internet-enabled visual process management, collaboration, analysis and communication solutions for extended manufacturing enterprises. In 2000 EAI was acquired by Unigraphics Solutions, Inc. an EDS company and in 2001 became part of UGS PLM Solutions, an EDS subsidiary formed from the merger of Unigraphics Solutions and Structural Dynamics Research Corporation (SDRC). In 2002 Dan left the company for an executive position in the insurance industry, but returned in 2003, when he was appointed to his current position.
Previously Malliet spent 11 years with Wellmark, a highly diversified health care and employee benefits company where he served as the director of Human Resources. This followed four years at Norwest Corporation (now Wells Fargo) where he held a series of increasingly responsible positions building and managing HR functions.
Prior to beginning his career in HR, Malliet worked in the mental health field as a group and family counselor, substance abuse counselor and youth counselor. He opened outreach services to rural communities and was active with Juvenile and Family court regarding juvenile delinquency and family counseling situations. This experience has given him insight that he still finds valuable in his personal and professional life today.
Dan received his Bachelor of Science degree in psychology/sociology and a Master of Science in Industrial Relations from Iowa State University, where he graduated with Phi Kappa Phi academic honor.
Dan enjoys people, golf, classic car restoration and mechanics. He especially enjoys spending time with his wife and two teenagers. |
