Prior to joining OHG, he was a Principal of Harborside Hospitality Resources, a consulting firm specializing in new hotel development, franchise and management company selection, management contract negotiation, and acquisition and disposition consulting. As a hospitality consultant, Dan has represented numerous firms in the development of new hotels and mixed use real estate projects, hotel site selection and market analysis, as well as complex lease and management contract negotiations.
Prior to starting Harborside Hospitality, Dan spent 13 years in sales, marketing and development roles with a prominent boutique hotel development and management company. Having joined that company in its earliest stages as Corporate Director of Sales & Marketing, Dan was instrumental in its successful growth and overall development, designing and implementing corporate sales and marketing strategies for over 20 three & four diamond rated boutique hotels and resorts located in eastern Canada and the Northeastern U.S. In later years, as Vice President of Development, he negotiated numerous third party management agreements, analyzed and selected new hotel sites, and acted as project manager on several key acquisitions and historic restoration projects. Mr. Mahoney brings the developer/owner perspective to each new transaction and is uniquely qualified to assist in upscale boutique, destination resort and franchise properties.
Dan received his Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management from the University of New Haven 1985. Following his graduation he began his career and early training with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts in a sales and marketing position at the Hyatt Regency Cambridge. |
