Dan has over 40 years of financial management, mergers & acquisitions and operations management which provide an exceptional perspective on improving profitability and accelerating growth through strategic and tactical initiatives. In addition to consulting, Dan served as Corporate Vice President of a multi-billion dollar conglomerate directing the internal audit function, followed by the Operations Administration group (included Corporate Engineering, Labor Relations, Distribution, Purchasing, Credit and Receivable Management and Operating Services) and ultimately Corporate Development.
Dan served as the CFO of one of the largest publicly held owner, operator and franchisor of haircare stores with more than 1,000 locations throughout the system. Dan led the negotiations when the company was ultimately sold to a competitor. He also served as the CFO of a family held, multi-national manufacturer and marketer of food ingredient systems. This company profitably increased its sales from $250 million to more than $600 million during his six year tenure.

Completed more than 50 transactions totaling over $10 billion of mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. Transaction size range from less than $2 million to more than $2 billion. Conducted due diligence, contract negotiation and post-acquisition integration.
Developed and executed repositioning strategies changing a major product line from a commodity to value-added branded business.
Led the site selection team and negotiated the financial inducements, both locally and at the state level, for a $35 million expansion project.
Provided financial control and direction as Interim Chief Financial Officer of a client following the departure of the CFO and the Controller and a surprise write-off of 20% of the year’s earnings. Assumed the lead role in communications with analysts, major institutional investors and commercial bankers. Recruited and developed a new management team within the Finance group.
Monetized the assets of a bank’s bankrupt manufacturing client achieving 63% of the outstanding loan.
Led the due diligence team while structuring and negotiating a food company’s three largest acquisitions which strategically expanded the company’s product line.
Renegotiated a $200 million Line of Credit with a five bank consortium to a $100 million line with an additional $100 million accordion provision thereby reducing the unused commitment fee.
Dan received his B.S. Accounting from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1966 and received his CPA certificate the following year.
