Habeas Chairman Dan Kohn is a general partner with Skymoon Ventures, a seed-stage fund focusing on semiconductors and telecoms infrastructure. Before joining Skymoon, Kohn helped manage several telecom firms controlled by Craig McCaw, including XO Communications, Nextel, ICO, and Teledesic. Kohn was founder and CEO of NetMarket, one of the first internet companies, which he subsequently sold to Cendant. NetMarket set up the first music CD store and conducted the first secure commercial transaction on the web. Kohn was also formerly the interim CEO of Pedestal Networks, where he helped the company grow from 0 to 50 employees, raise $14 million and ship its first product. Kohn also currently sits on the boards of Pedestal Networks, Pixonics, and Sproqit. Kohn received a bachelor's degree in Economics and Computer Science from the Honors program of Swarthmore College, and studied at Exeter and the London School of Economics. |
