Dan Chammas is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP, based in the Firm’s Los Angeles office. As a member of the Labor and Employment Department, he specializes in labor and employment law, with extensive experience defending employers in wage and hour class actions.
Dan has great experience in a wide range of employment disputes, including unpaid wages, sexual harassment, wrongful termination and racial discrimination. He spends much of his practice advising clients on the implications of wage and hour law, including an employer's duty to pay overtime. Dan also has experience in drafting arbitration provisions and covenants not to compete. His experience also includes traditional labor law, as well as representing management against union grievances, particularly labor disputes involving the Screen Actors Guild, the Writers Guild and the Directors Guild. Additionally, he manages cases brought to the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board against employers accused of discriminating against an employee for filing a claim.
