Dan Carney serves as Executive Vice President in the firm’s Cleveland office. He is also a member of DHR’s Advanced Technology Practice. Mr. Carney focuses his practice primarily in the Information Technology sector and has also conducted searches in the Industrial and Finance Services industries. His experience includes working with companies including small startups to large corporate entities. Clients include Sterling Commerce, First Data Corporation, Allied Waste, F5 Networks, Virtusa, WRC Media, PC Connection, Ford New Holland, National City Bank, and Lifeware Technologies. Prior to joining Executive Search, Mr. Carney recognized that effective leadership is the most critical variable in the success of any business endeavor. As such, Search consultants can have more of an impact on a company’s fortunes than any other advisor, and therefore, must be diligent and tenacious in their work finding optimal talent to drive maximum value. In addition to identifying great talent to build executive teams, he is known for his personal approach with candidates and his ability to recruit senior players in their industry. Mr. Carney has served clients through his association with other search firms and most recently from his own firm. His earlier experience includes several years as a management consultant with two international consulting firms, Diamond Technology Partners and CSC Consulting. His management consulting work included major projects in Operations Management in the areas of Supply Chain, Logistics, Manufacturing, Customer Service, and Business Process Redesign. Additionally, he was one of the early thought leaders applying the principles of Mass Customization and Consumer Experiences to a firm’s competitive strategy. Former clients include First Data Corporation, Stepan Chemical, Kellogg, Potlatch Corporation, Tremco, and Goodyear Tire and Rubber. Prior to consulting, Mr. Carney held several manufacturing and operations management roles with major corporations including Lord Corporation, Helix Technology, and Proctor and Gamble. Mr. Carney received his BS in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina and his MBA from Harvard Business School in Boston, Massachusetts. Outside of his professional work activities, he is deeply involved in community affairs through his role as President of the Harvard Business School Club of Northeast Ohio. |
