From 1995, into 1997, Dan was the President/COO of PrimeCo’s Southeast Region (now Verizon Wireless) and oversaw the successful buildout and launch of high quality wireless telecommunication service in an area covering twenty million people within 18 months. Many of the areas within PrimeCo’s launch footprint represented difficult zoning challenges. In 1997, Behuniak took on the task of rebuilding UNIsite, a wireless tower management company. As its President and CEO, Dan transformed UNIsite into one of the earliest tower build and collocation companies. It played a key role in OmniPoint’s buildout of the eastern U.S., building 600 towers in 30 months. UNIsite had an additional 300 towers in its construction pipeline when it was merged into American Tower in January, 2000. |
