Dan has almost twenty years of business experience in assisting organizations to create value through planning and analysis. Dan’s expertise includes business and strategic planning, operations and financial analyses, business assessments, capital formation, due diligence related to mergers and acquisitions, and financial modeling and viability assessments of under-performing companies. Dan frequently assists clients to develop and implement comprehensive strategic plans that seek to enhance shareholder value. Dan’s expertise spans a range of industries including manufacturing, distribution, construction, real estate, financial services, and technology. Dan is very active in assisting clients with due diligence related to acquisitions and divestitures as well as advisory services and post-acquisition integration services. He has also been instrumental in designing and performing loan collateral assessments and pre-loan due diligence for various lending institutions. Dan has been involved in numerous private placements of debt and equity, advising clients on appropriate market strategy, capitalization, ownership structure, and available sources of capital. He has prepared detailed business plans to act as communication tools for prospective and current investors, bankers, management teams, major customers, and other stakeholders. Prior to joining Mackinac Partners, Dan spent more than ten years in the Corporate Growth Services Group at Plante & Moran. At Plante & Moran, his practice was focused on advising organizations experiencing significant periods of change including industry transformation, changing competitive environments, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, cash flow difficulty, and succession planning. Previously, Dan held positions as Group Manager of Financial Operations at a national mortgage bank, Senior Accountant with a holding company of W.R. Grace Corporation, and as a Financial Analyst with EDS.Dan earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Oakland University and a Master of Science in Corporate Finance with high honors from Walsh College. |
