Dan Platt has been Vice President and Controller of Argonaut Group Inc. since January 2004. Mr. Platt is responsible for Group financial reporting and planning and SEC reporting. He is also responsible for the Oracle financials team and systems and for establishing policies and procedures for expenditures. Mr. Platt joined Argonaut Group in May 2001 as Vice President and Controller of Argonaut Insurance Company. Before he joined Argonaut he was Senior Vice President and Controller for Fremont Compensation Insurance Group where he was responsible for financial reporting and planning the actuarial department reinsurance placement and accounting collections and financial systems. He also handled the financial aspects of merger and acquisition activities. Prior to that Mr. Platt was an audit manager for Teledyne Inc. a diversified financial services and manufacturing company with 140 operating subsidiaries. He is a CPA and received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois and his MBA from the University of California at Berkeley. |
